Fingerprinting is required by Illinois State Law for the successful issuance of your Illinois Concealed Carry License by the Illinois State Police:

It normally takes 30 days for a fingerprint background check to be done by the Illinois State Police.

We some times can provide during our CCW class breaks, on site fingerprinting done by professional technicians, for an extra charge of $55.00 that we collect from you prior to your 1st class. We then pay directly that $55.00 to the Live Scan Fingerprinting company. The fingerprinting, is done electronically, and without ink, that could stain your hands, and or your clothing. At most washing your hands, is all that is needed after the fingerprinting is completed. If the fingerprinting for your Illinois Concealed Carry License can not be done in our CCW classroomn, we email instructions on where you can go nearby to have it done at no additional cost to you.

After your fingerprinting is completed, you will be issued a paper form with your Illinois State Police "TCN" Number. You must give that form with your "TCN" Number to your instructor. Without a "TCN" Number you can not complete our CCW training course, or your application with the Illinois State Police for the issuance of an Illinois Concealed Carry License to you, after you have successfully completed our CCW class.

TCN stands for Transaction Control Number, and is electronically issued by the Illinois State Police at the completion of your electronic Live Scan fingerprinting.
